International Workshop ICNAP 2024 Summer Meeting

The International Workshop ICNAP 2024 Summer Meeting, organised by the International Centre for Networked Adaptive Production (ICNAP) of the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft was held on 18th and 19th of June 2024 at the MBDA company site in Bacoli
(Naples), Italy.

Representatives of the BioMeld consortium member Smart Sensing, Prof. Roberto Teti and Dr Alessandra Caggiano, attended the event in order to give an Invited Keynote Presentation on the BioMeld project and participate in the roadmapping activities of the ICNAP Working Groups.

The Invited Keynote Presentation was given during the first day of the meeting, which was
open to the public consisting of 50-60 representatives of European and non-European small, medium, and large enterprises involved in R&D activities related
to Advanced Manufacturing Engineering topics such as Artificial Intelligence Industrialisation, Digital Twin Demonstrators, Biological Transformation in Manufacturing, Energy Monitoring, and Innovative Power Solutions.

The Smart Sensing Presentation fell within the framework of the emerging topic of Biologicalisation in Manufacturing and included a general illustration of the
BioMeld project and the presentation of Smart Sensing project activities that focus on Manufacturing Process Steps and Production Plan Development for the fabrication and assembly of a steerable bio-hybrid catheter.

During the second day of the meeting, which was reserved for the ICNAP community, Prof. Roberto Teti and Dr Alessandra Caggiano participated in the activities of the ICNAP Working Groups Roadmapping on the topics of Intelligent Sensing & Communication and Data-Driven Sustainability. They provided a broader insight into the activities and experiences gained while working on the BioMeld project.
